Meat pie (for the Keto diet)

I think that if at some point I decided to go on a diet, the Keto diet would be the one to follow because I would not have to give up the things I like the most ... Meat and cheese.



Hello everyone, today I bring you this delicious meatloaf stuffed with cheese and a homemade barbecue sauce that will leave you freaking out.


Ingredients


20 or 30 strips of bacon

1 Kg of minced beef

500 gr of grated mozzarella cheese

1 red bell pepper, julienned

1 red or white onion, julienned

Sea salt

Pepper

1/2 teaspoon of

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon oregano


Preparation


Start by sautéing the vegetables over medium-low heat with a drizzle of oil, for at least 3 minutes or until soft. Salt and pepper and reserve.


Then mix the spices in a small bowl and put them away. Next, butter a "deep" ovenproof skillet, cover the bottom of the pan with strips of bacon, making them all start in the center and go out into the shape of the sun. It is important that you have at least half of the bacon strip on the outside of the pan since with this we will cover the pie on top.


Put a thin layer of minced meat, season very well with the spice mixture. Add a layer of cheese, a layer of vegetables, more cheese, more vegetables, a last layer of meat that you cannot forget to season again. and now start to cover with the bacon strips on top until the pie is completely covered.


Paint it with a little honey on top and bake at 180º for 20 or 30 minutes or until it reaches 57º internally.


Meanwhile you can prepare a homemade bbq sauce that we already have on the blog and of which I leave you the link here, it is super easy and you do not know the flavor it brings.


After 20 minutes in the oven, remove the pan, place a large plate on it and carefully turn the pie on the plate. I warn you that you are going to make an incredible mess of meat juices, but that does not matter because what is really important is what you are going to eat in the end. Return the pie to the pan, being careful not to split it, brush it with bbq sauce and put it back in the oven for 5 more minutes or until the bacon is golden.


Take it out of the oven, add as much bbq as you want and now you just have to enjoy .. You cannot imagine the taste of this pie ..

This recipe is only a guide, and you can adapt it to your tastes. So don't stop making it, you will be surprised how delicious it is!
