Smash Burgers!!

These beautiful and delicious burgers became very famous in the 20's in the United States and today they invade the world again through social networks. Here we bring you our version.

Hi everyone, we're making some fabulous Smashed Burgers today and they'll be ready to eat in about 20 minutes.


500g of minced beef (20% fat)

3 hamburger buns

1 or 2 onions

mozzarella cheese

American processed cheese (yellow)

3 lettuce leaves

1 tomato

pickles to taste

Sour mayonnaise

4 or 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise

1 tablespoon picadilly

Basil mayonnaise

1 bunch of basil

2 cloves of garlic

4 or 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise

This recipe is designed for 3 double burgers, but if you want to cook for more, don't worry, double or triple the amounts and everything will be fine!


To prepare the basil mayonnaise, place the basil leaves and garlic with a pinch of salt in a mortar (or in a grinder) and begin to mash everything until a kind of basil paste is left, add the mayonnaise and mix everything very well. Save it for serving time.

For the piccalilli mayonnaise, mix both ingredients, taste, correct the intensity of the flavor and reserve.

Knead your meat a little and weigh balls of approximately 80g. Put the meat in the fridge to keep it as cold as possible.

Meanwhile cut the tomatoes into slices and julienne the lettuce and onions.

Now in a very hot pan with a drizzle of oil, add the onions and sauté them for 2 or 3 minutes. Add a piece of butter.

In the same frying pan (if you want) very hot and at very high heat, place one of the cold meat balls and with the help of a spatula or a "smasher" crush the ball until it is 0.5 to 1 cm thick . Slide the spatula gently to prevent the meat from sticking to the spatula, do not forget to add salt. Cook the meat for 1 or 2 minutes or until a crust forms, turn it over and place a slice of cheese. Repeat the process with all the meats and don't forget to toast the bread a little.

Once the meats are ready, it is time to assemble your burger, spread the buns with the sauces, and put a base of lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion, put one meat on top of the other and close your hamburger.

And that's it .. Enjoy it with friends, fries and beer
