Rustic Lasagna, Ardito's Kitchen

Well, I want to start by apologizing to the Italians who see this recipe ... surely they will want to die when they see what we do with something so traditional in Italian cuisine. But I invite you to try it, it is absolutely delicious!

Hello everyone, today we will prepare my father's version of Lasagna, which we have decided to call Rustic Lasagna because of the way he cuts vegetables.

Cooking time depends on how you use the pasta in the lasagna.

Precooked and soft pasta: 10 minutes in the oven preheated to 180 ° C, with heat up and down. Check out our Unique and Amazing Lasagna video to see how we previously soften the pasta.

Raw pasta: 15 to 20 minutes in the oven preheated to 160 ° C with heat down and then 10 minutes at 180 ° C with heat up and down.

Ingredients

3 colored peppers

2 onions

4 garlic cloves

1 large spinach bag (300g)

1 kg of ground beef

sliced mozzarella cheese (15 slices for our mold)

grated mozzarella cheese (200gr)

6 hard-boiled eggs

1 tablespoon oregano

1/2 teaspoon of cumin

1 jar of tomato sauce for Bolognese (500gr)

enough pasta sheets (9 for our mold)

1 teaspoon of sugar

1/2 liter of bechamel sauce (we have a recipe and video of how to make this sauce at home)

This recipe is intended for 6 people. So if you want to make more or less quantity, multiply or divide the ingredients and everything will be fine!

Preparation

Note: preheat the oven to 180 ° with heat up and down.

Start by cutting the onion, peppers and garlic very small (you can also put them in a food processor, chopper or blender).

Now cut the hard-boiled eggs into slices and reserve for the moment to serve.

In a deep frying pan with a drizzle of oil, over medium heat, add the onion, peppers and garlic. sauté for 2 or 3 minutes or until vegetables are soft. add the oregano and season with a teaspoon of salt.

Add the minced meat and cook until it is completely done (brown color), add the spinach leaves, mix and now add the Bolognese sauce. Stir everything very well, taste it and add more salt if necessary and correct the acidity of the sauce with a teaspoon of sugar.

Then paint the bottom of a deep mold with a little butter, and begin to assemble the lasagna. First a layer of pasta, meat, eggs, sliced mozarella cheese, a little bechamel sauce and start again, pasta, meat, eggs, cheese and bechamel. Finish with some shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and the lasagna is golden on top.

Let it rest, you don't want to scorch your mouth with a bite of this lasagna, and voila, serve with loaf of bread and enjoy with your family or friends.

As we always say:

If your plate doesn't look like our image, don't worry! We spent over 40 minutes trying to find the perfect angle for the photo.

If you don't have one of the ingredients on the list or don't like something, feel free to replace it. You could make a 30/70 mix with pork and beef, or substitute chard for the spinach.

This recipe is only a guide and you can adapt it to your tastes. So don't stop doing it, you will be surprised how delicious it is!

Remember: "Practice makes perfect"
