Tagliata, Italian beef

When we think of Italian food, the first thing we imagine is a plate of pasta. However, after trying this delicious beef that will change and the meat will become your best memory of this exquisite gastronomy.

Hello everyone, today we are cooking Tagliata, an Italian beef dish. This recipe is super easy and will be ready to eat in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

40 g of rocket (if you don't like rocket, you can do it with raw spinach) 3 tablespoons pine nuts 2 tablespoons of honey Parmesan 2 small tomatoes 500 g of Rib Eye steak* (or any soft and tender steak)

This recipe is designed for 2 people, but if you want to cook for more, don't worry, double or triple the amounts and everything will be fine.

Preparation

We will start by preparing a delicious vinaigrette, for which we will use approximately 6 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar, and 2 or 3 tablespoons of honey. We mix everything very well and reserve it for the moment of preparing the salad. (before saving it, try it and add more of what you like to make it perfect)

Afterwards, we will start cutting the tomato into small slices (we don't use the seeds for aesthetics but do not waste any tomato, use them whole if you want).

Toast the pine nuts in a frying pan without oil, for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly. We don't want the pine nuts to burn so remove them when they are golden brown.

Skim fat from meat and place it in a nonstick pan over high heat so part of the fat melts. Remove the fat and sear the meat for 1 minute on each side or until it's golden on the outside but pink in the center, do not forget to put salt and pepper on both sides.

Remove the meat from the fire and let it rest for 3 minutes on a plate, covered with aluminum foil. This step is very important as it allows the juices from the meat to be kept inside the meat, resulting in a very juicy piece.

While the meat is resting, mix the tomatoes and rocket, and bathe them in our delicious vinaigrette. Remember to season to perfection. Thinly slice the meat at an angle.

Now we are ready to serve; Place a generous portion of the rocket salad and pine nuts in the center of the plate. Then place the soft strips of meat around the salad, great some Parmesan cheese on top and you're done. Enjoy this delicious Italian dish.

We serve on a large plate to share but you can do individual portions.

As we always say:

If your plate doesn't look like our picture, don't worry! We spent over 40 minutes trying to find the perfect angle for the photo.

If you don't have any of the ingredients on the list or don't like something, don't hesitate to replace it. For example, rocket for spinach or lettuce, or pine nuts for almonds or peanuts. This recipe is just a guide, and you can adapt it to your tastes. So do not stop making it, you will be surprised how fast and delicious it is!
